Choosing a portrait photographer
There is a couple of things to consider when choosing a portrait photographer. Foremost you want to be sure that you like the style of the photographer. Next you want to ask yourself what do you want to do with those portrait photos? Are you looking for high-quality photos of yourself, timeless photos you can look at today as well as in 10 years and enjoy them? Do you need a high quality photo for your web presence, your social networking profile? Or do you simply want photos for your Instagram feed? Your use case will most likely also determine how much you value them and therefore are willing to pay for such photos.
My portrait photoshooting packages:
I offer three photo shooting packages as per below. FAQ
Q: How does it work – when do I get my photos?
Please read through the step by step description scrolling up to the section: How to get started.
Q: When do I pay?
You pay me on the day of the photoshoot before we get started. You will get a receipt for it.
Q: How do I pay?
You pay in cash or via PayPal upfront to this account: payment@fuchs-photography.com
Q: How about make-up and hair?
My portrait style is mostly a natural look, so in most of my shoots the clients do their own make-up and hair. However I have worked with multiple make-up/ hair artists in Berlin and can organise – if you wish – one for you. They typically charge 50 Euros upwards for one look.
Q: How about outfits? What should I wear?
It’s your photoshoot so you ultimately decide on what you wear – in my style for portraits, I prefer plain colours/ no wild patterns as this distracts too much from the face. White, gray and blue colours typically works quite well. You can go either with an elegant or casual street style look. Whatever you want and you feel most comfortable in. I’m happy to discuss outfit ideas and options prior to the shoot.
Q: How about shoes?
I typically take portraits so upper body & face is in the photo. In fashion oriented shots I mostly shoot somewhere down to around thigh/ knee height. So shoes are mostly not visible.
Q: I am not 18 years old yet. Do you shoot minors?
Yes, I do. However in that case, please have your parents contact me. Also it is necessary that one of your parents accompanies you to the shoot and also signs the shooting contract.
Q: Anything else I need to think of?
Please take note of your nail polish. I would advise against crazy colours unless it fits the style in the photo you are looking for. As a general rule either red or plain/ natural works best. When you are going for a shoulder-free portrait shoot in the summer time please do not wear a bag with shoulder straps when going to the shoot, as this will leave red marks on your shoulder which will stay for a long time.
